Real Health Care Reform
A nation where tens of millions of Americans go without health insurance is definitely in need of real health reform. The Congressional Budget Office tells us that in 2024, more than ten years after Obamacare goes into effect, there will still be 31 million Americans who don’t have coverage. That is unacceptable.
As Chairman of the Energy and Commerce, I’m working to replace a failing law with solutions that will focus on bringing the cost of health care down for America’s families. This year, the Health Subcommittee will be considering various bills to give people more options to choose the coverage they need.
Below you will find a memo I've written to my constituents that explains how we ended up with Obamacare, why I believe it is failing, and what we need to replace it with. I believe we can do much better than the present law.
Finally, I’d like to know what you think we should do with the Affordable Care Act. Do you think we should:
Fully repeal the law
Make changes to the law
Or, make no changes to the law
