NIH and FDA Heads Coming to Pitts’ Lancaster Roundtable Friday

Friday afternoon at the Lancaster Farm and Home Center, Congressman Joe Pitts (R-PA) will hold a roundtable discussion with NIH Director Dr. Francis Collins, FDA Commissioner Dr. Margaret Hamburg and regional medical leaders. The roundtable is part of the House Energy and Commerce Committee’s 21st Century Cures initiative and will be attended by full committee Chairman Fred Upton (R-MI), Health Subcommittee Vice Chair Dr. Michael Burgess (R-TX) and Health Subcommittee Ranking Member Frank Pallone (D-NJ). Pitts, as Chairman of the Health Subcommittee, has been a leader of the bipartisan initiative, convening a series of hearings in Washington.

Members of the media and the public are invited to attend and observe from 1:30 to 3:30 p.m. There will be a media availability immediately following the discussion at 3:30.
